The Critical Warning Against False Worship (Mark 12:38-40)

• Jesus warns His disciples about the scribes who were full of pride, greed, and hypocrisy.
• Jesus pronounces condemnation on the scribes for their false worship.

 

The Contrasting Example of True Worship (Mark 12:41-44)

 

• Jesus points out that the poor widow gave significantly more than those who were rich.
• The widow demonstrated her true worship of God and dependence upon God by surrendering all she had to Him.
